Hypocrisy is what I see, and I think we are missing the opportunity to call out the specifics when we see them. Allow me the opportunity to offer up some examples.
For so long we have heard the Democrats talk about the idea that all Americans should be proud of the courage that it takes the LGBT community to be LGBT publicly because it isn’t a choice.
They make this argument by suggesting that no one who is only politically motivated would ever choose to put themselves into a position where he or she is going to be ridiculed and berated by the masses for something they could have, in good conscience, chosen not to do.
However, when Christians or Republicans stand up for what they believe, and cannot in good conscience resist speaking up about it, they are not met with cheers, applause and praise, rather they are met by being shouted down and with physical violence.
If you don’t recall, Senator Rand Paul was attacked in his front yard last year by someone who disagreed with him politically (p.s. I guess the plan worked… where’s he been lately? Prior to the attack, Rand was pulling off 13 hour filibusters on the floor of the Senate as he advocated his conservative beliefs). Senator Ted Cruz and his wife were heckled out of a restaurant last week. And even more recently, Senator Lindsey Graham was shouted down as he existed the Senate Judiciary hearings this past week.
Less than two years ago, Vice President Mike Pence was mocked for never being in a room alone with a woman other than his wife, and yet now it’s the very thing liberals are maligning Judge Kavanaugh’s character with for not doing.
Yes, I’m saying that the Democrats are happy to suggest that someone else was in the room during the alleged incident as they can now use that person as a “witness” to support their fallacious claim.
Another example can be found in the overwhelming support of Bruce Jenner for, what they identified as, the bravery it took to transition into a ”woman”.
Yet for some reason, the same liberals who praised him are the exact same people who executed a coordinated attack on Donald Trump for over two years as he has stood bravely in the face of opposition as a proud defender of his desires to help Americans make America great again.
Over the last 10 years we have stood back and watched as liberal students protested conservative speakers on the college campus, and did so by declaring their support for the freedom speech. Every night conservatives and Christians are told that they have to sit back and accept a bombardment of criticisms about our most deeply held beliefs from late night hosts such as Jimmy Kimmel, James Corden, and Stephen Colbert because they have the first amendment right to say what they want.
Yet for some reason, those same students who championed their support of the first amendment, as well as those late night hosts, are also the very same people who have now targeted conservative influencers such as Alex Jones for having the courage to use his first amendment right (much more effectively I might add) to speak out about what he believes to be true.
In recent months Alex Jones has had every single one of his podcasts removed from Apple iTunes with the media giant claiming that Jones violated the platforms bullying policies. In addition, Jones has had all three of his YouTube channels demonetized and banned, has been banned from Facebook and Twitter, was removed from 20+ other streaming platforms, and has now had his company denied access to PayPal as a means to collect payment.
Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident as this has happened to other conservative broadcasters that you may have forgotten about: — Bill O’reilly was targeted by the liberal media network “Media Matters” and fired from Fox News. At the time he was removed from Fox News, O’reilly had the highest rated news show on television for nearly 15 years.
In addition, Dennis Prager of Prager University had his YouTube channel targeted and as a result has had many of his conservative videos restricted and even blocked from showing up in searches altogether.
Finally, last year, Eric Bolling of Fox News was hit with an uncorroborated sexual allegation and fired from Fox News after being the first member of “The Five” to openly support Donald Trump and continue to do so until the day he was fired.
These were all Conservative supporters of Trump, all muzzled by the efforts of a liberal media to silence their first amendment right to speak freely about what they believed.
Another example is that the same group of people who now praise Colin Kaepernick for his courageous actions on the football field are the same people who vehemently criticized Tim Tebow for taking a knee on the same football field four years ago. They suggested that it was inappropriate and that Tebow’s timing was tasteless.
How strange it is that only a few years later they build a national campaign in support of Kaepernick, who does the same thing, yet he does so by weaponizing religion to self-righteously hurl daggers of indignation at those who hold the implementation of their faith (an explicit right stated in the constitution) to be sacred above all else.
During Barack Obamas tenure, conversations on race became untenable at a rate which none of us had ever seen. Because it was mis-characterized as being racially demeaning and accusatorial in nature, issues brought up in love were dismissed and used to harm good willed people who often aimed to heal race relations in the United States.
At the core of the argument being made at the time was the idea that all black people were unjustly being approached by police officers in a manor that was described as “guilty until proven innocent”.
I can’t help but be blown away and wonder why that same mantra isn’t now at the forefront of an effort to end the manor in which the mainstream media has assaulted the Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh.
The truth is that the problem is not merely hypocrisy, though it is obviously at work. With latitude, I’m going to call it like I see it, and ask for forgiveness later if necessary — I think what we are seeing is evil. And I think its time to fight.
18 The judges shall inquire diligently, and if the witness is a false witness and has accused his brother falsely, 19 then you shall do to him as he had meant to do to his brother. So you shall purge the evil from your midst. 20 And the rest shall hear and fear, and shall never again commit any such evil among you. 21 Your eye shall not pity. It shall be life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.
Deuteronomy 19:18-21
